The Pee Dee Education Center is a consortium of nineteen school districts, Coker College, and Francis Marion University. It was established in 1967 to provide support for the school districts in the region. The Center is governed by a Board of Directors composed of superintendents from each member district and representatives from Francis Marion University and Coker College. Besides providing direct services for member districts (described on this web site), the Center is also respected as an authoritative communications link with political and educational entities throughout South Carolina.
